• Camino De Santiago – Aug 2023

A few of my favorite pictures taken while exploring Santiago De Compostela. The city is well preserved and takes you back to the medieval centuries. I spent 1.5 days walking every street, taking a Tapas tour, historical walking tour and also attended the morning mass.

  • Mission Accomplished

87.27 miles, 190,243 steps and 6 days later I made it to my destination of Santiago from O Pedrouzo on this rainy day at 11.15 am on Aug 28th. What a sense of accomplishment and gratification! This verse from my favorite movie Zindagi Na milegi Dobara summarizes my state of mind as I stand in…

  • Day 5 on The Way

22 miles, 45279 steps in 8.5 hours with two 30 minute breaks! My personal best of walking from Melide to O Pedrouzo. Mind over matter 🙂 Today was the most intense day in my itinerary and even I had my doubts if I could walk this much in one day. Started the walk at 6.45…

  • Day 4 on The Way

7 miles and 15K steps in 2.5 hours from Palas to Melide. Today was rest day so I kept the walk short. Started at 8 am on a very foggy day and reached my destination by 10.30 only to find out that checkin was at 1 pm. Spent the next few hours checking out the…

  • Day 3 on The Way

16.2 miles and 36800 steps today as I walked from Portomarin to Palas De Rei. Lovely 60F weather with light drizzle for the most part. Walking was enjoyable today as the sun was not burning my skin. Listened to the Hindi music playlist my son made for me the entire 7 hours. Humming to Shahrukh…

  • Day 2 of The Way

13.91 miles and 29700 steps Started in Sarria and the goal was to reach Portomarin 13.91 miles away. Yesterday I saw a total of 7 people, today I think it was 700. Sarria is the most popular starting point for the Camino and I am glad I started 15 miles north east to experience the…

  • Day 1 of The Way

15.25 miles, 35067 steps, 6 hours Started the Camino in Triacastela which is 135Kms from Santiago. It took me an entire day to reach the starting point after landing in Madrid. The train to Sarria was 7 hours after my flight landed and I used the time to explore Retiro Park in Madrid as well…

  • A culturally divine Sunday

Once in a while, we all have THAT day when at the end of it, we think about everything that happened in the last 24 hours and feel extremely content. This past Sunday was THAT day for me. I woke up to a packed agenda wondering how I was going to manage all my commitments…

  • Another year wiser

For almost a decade, my then company’s annual meet coincided with my birthday which would push the celebration out. This changed a few years ago when I changed jobs and since then I always make it a priority to celebrate it on the day of my birthday. This year, we decided to combine the celebrations…

  • A Grand Tetons Adventure

Continuing our Wyoming National parks trip, we made it to Jackson, WY late in the evening to start our Grand Tetons National Park adventure for the next 4 days. These mighty mountains make you gasp when you first see them. They are majestic, serene, vast, powerful and as my daughter said – Bejeweled (the patches…
