Cousins Meetup

My cousin was returning back to India and suggested all cousins meet up the night before for one last get together. We met at a local creperie and decided it wasn’t what everyone was craving with the rains outside. We then headed to our favorite Mediterranean restaurant and spent the next few hours discussing the food we ate, the family quirks we inherited, spirituality and of course modern dating. Between endless laughter, it was discovered that our cousin hadn’t had Boba yet. Even though we had just polished off baklava, Nomura and rice pudding, we felt that Boba was a must and could not be skipped before his flight. Off we went to the other part of town to our favorite Boba bar.

Now this Boba bar is very important as it is where the Dallas cousins meet whenever everyone can meetup because we all live very busy lives. We quickly grabbed the corner sectional and the boba jokes started. Countless pictures were taken with the RIGHT boba pose and unashamedly, we were the loudest people that night. We were so busy laughing talking about silly stuff that we did not realize that the place had almost emptied out. The owner came and grumpily said ” We close” and we spent the next 5 minutes debating whether he meant we should leave :D. We finally agreed that he wanted us to leave despite the grammatical error in his delivery and as we exited, one of the cousins loudly said ” We Go”. We were in splits and I am pretty certain that we are now banned from the establishment.

Now before anyone thinks that we are just a rowdy bunch, I would like to clarify that between the 5 of us that night we held 6 bachelors degrees, 5 masters degrees and 1 PhD. We were just happy to be together and didn’t want the night to end. It was one of the most memorable evenings during his visit ( and there were a LOT of memorable evenings). We will miss him and I hope we can all recreate these memories soon. Until then, I have the pictures to make me smile!
